English Singer- Songwriter Dua Lipa has taken the world by storm over the past year with her catchy, attitude-filled Anthems, something which differs from the artists in which she competes with in the charts. Straight off the release of ‘One Kiss,’ Calvin Harris' new Summertime tune in which she features, Dua Lipa takes to the stage for her sold out Alexandra Palace date.

Getting to this point hasn’t been an easy ride, however, with the artist having to cancel a string of US support shows with Bruno Mars recently, due to emergency dental surgery.

The Artist, who was a double Brit Award winner this year, has no problem filling her set with songs which appeal to her audience. She bursts onto a stage with all the energy in the world, to begin her set of pure Pop bangers. She is dressed classy-but-cool, flaunting a Bralette with a pair of straight legged trousers, a style in which many of her fans are sporting too. Accompanied with intriguing art-pop visuals and seamlessly choreographed dance, which she pays close attention to, it seems as though the singer has pulled out all the stops for her tour. The whole set up feels like a Floridian beach party and you forget for a moment you are in London. With so many peppy songs behind her, Dua lipa manages to throw some of her biggest hits into the first half of the show.

Taking the crowd by storm as she promptly heads into ‘Blow Your Mind (Mwah) she provides a space for her audience to dance, something which she encourages throughout her show, as she herself does not stop bouncing across the stage for her entire 90-minute set, even when performing her slower songs. Her tirelessness is something which stands out throughout her set, and it highlights the way in which she perfectly showcases being unpolished but still being able to give the audience a show, something in which many artists struggle to get right.

Dua Lipa’s voice echoes brute force throughout the arena and the the strength in her voice flourishes, particularly as she belts out the choruses of her tunes. Slower songs on the set list give her time to debut the huskier tone and the eloquence in which she bares, something which doesn’t shine through during her Pop-hits.

As she exits the stage ready to reappear for her encore and to perform the songs the audience have been undeniably waiting for up all night, she provides humour as across the screens it reads “To all the Fuckboys,” before bursting into hit IDGAF. Dua Lipa performs with such an attitude and her crowd lap it up and hopefully take away the empowerment boasted throughout the Anthem.

As she begins to perform explosive hit ‘New Rules’ she seems to rely on the energy of the crowd in order to finish her set, singing loud and clear to be heard over a audience which know every word. Dua Lipa proves that while she provides hit-after-hit, she is not just a Pop Princess, but has energy, an attitude and a personality that nobody can mess with.
