The New L'oreal foundation has been inundated with hype from beauty bloggers/ Youtubers around the world. Having recently purchased the product, I set about to test if the Foundation was really worth the hype... and if it could survive the conditions of a gig.

Applying the foundation was a simple process. The formula is more liquid than a cream and therefore I felt as though I did not have to use as much product as I usually would. It was easy to distribute and was applied better with a makeup sponge rather than a brush. The coverage did not seem full- but to be fair this wasn't one of its claims.

As I continued my makeup routine, I found products easy to layer over the top of the foundation- my contour seemed to settle in nicer with this foundation than others in my collection. I was surprised about how 'fresh' my face still felt although covered in powder and my skin felt more hydrated than usual.

(4:30PM) I was out working an Indoor festival all day and it was particularly hot. At the time of my check in, I did notice some foundation had started to separate on the top of my nose. This is normally a problem I face, but not this early on in the process. My skin also looked more shiny than normal and as someone who has dry skin, I do not normally notice this. Overall though, I was impressed with how the foundation still felt fresh and had also not sunk into my smile/ forehead lines.

St the end of the day (11PM) I was more than ready to take my makeup off. I was still pleasantly surprised how long the foundation had been able to last in the hot conditions of the gig, but the separation around my nose ( expected) and between my eyebrows (not expected) was a downside, as I normally do not experience this will my favourite foundations (Kat Von D, Too Faced, Maybelline.)
I also began to notice clear redness of my scars/ spots on my chin coming through. This confirmed that this product would not be appearing in my festival makeup bag as the hot conditions of an outside festival in summer would only ensure this redness came through quicker.

Final Thoughts: I enjoyed the foundations feeling of being fresh and lightweight. However, because of the coverage and the breaking down that occurred throughout the day, I will not be picking this up as my gig foundation. Instead, I would recommend the Maybelline SuperStay 24H.
