Trying an *almost* full face of Makeup Revolution

Makeup Revolution has caused a social media storm ever since it arrived in Superdrug, providing great makeup at affordable prices. As a brand that puts out so many products, it can be difficult to pinpoint what is good and what is great from the brand. I decided to spend a whole day wearing a full face of Revolution to test the wearability of some fan favourites.
Revolution Conceal and Define Foundation, Mattify Primer and Camouflage Concealer.

The Mattify Primer has been a firm favourite of mine for some time now. Due to having dry skin, I try to only use the primer in areas where I want to reduce the appearance of pores and find this primer manages to fill them in well. The Conceal and Define foundation is easy to distribute, due to its unique doe foot applicator. While the foundation claims to be full coverage, I would disagree and say it provides medium coverage that is buildable. However, I was happy with the application as it does not completely dry down, which helped it look glowy on my dry skin. While everyone raves about the conceal and define concealer, I personally find the Revolution Camouflage concealer provides more coverage for the dark circles under my eyes and does not dry down as quick, preventing cracking from under the eyes ( which I find with their other concealers.) Ultimately, I was happy with my base.

Ultra Contour Palette

While this palette is extremely affordable, I find it difficult to spend on contour palettes when I only really use one colour. While the colour I used was a great match to compliment my skin, I found it to cling to my foundation and hard to blend out, making my forehead in particular very patchy. I also found the highlighter in this palette to not give as may payoff as their highlighter singles.

Blush and Highlight Palette

I personally chose to use the peach shade in this palette and absolutely loved it! The colour was easy to blend and highly pigmented so I only had to tap my brush in slightly to get payoff. I found this applied well and I preferred it over many of the blushes in my collection due to it being a matt blush.
Skin Kiss Highlighter: Golden Kiss

I knew as soon as I dipped my brush in that I would love this product. Beautifully pigmented this highlight provides a glow both in natural light and under photography flash. Unlike previous Revolution Highlighters I had tried, this one did not appear chunky on my face and felt weightless. This product is also a bargain, and the pan is huge!

Brow Palette

Doing my brows is the part of my makeup that I hate the most. I didn't really like this palette as I found that even though I laid down gel before powder, the powder got all over my face, despite not picking up a lot of product. I found the clean up process time consuming and not really worth the time for the outcome. However, I did enjoy the highlighter gel in this palette for under the brow bone.

Ultra Neutrals Pigments Palette

This Palette has incredible payoff and is easily blendable. I personally loved the look that I was able to create with this palette. I found the glitter shades worked best with my finger, after trying a brush spritzed with setting spray. I will be picking up this palette to create looks more often, although the eyeshadows are not as long- lasting as more high end eyeshadows and at the end of the day all the colours looked mixed together to create more of a brown toned look.
Lipgloss: Shade 01

I hate, hate, HATE this lipgloss. It is unbelievably sticky on application, which is initially difficult as the product is so sticky, pulling across your lips. It is not long wearing at all and product sinks easily into lines, even after applying a liquid lip/ lip balm underneath. I would not recommend this product at all.

The final Result

After wearing these products for 10 hours, I came to a number of conclusions. I would wear the palette again, despite shades blending together to become one overall shade throughout the day. I would not recommend the lipgloss as it was not at all long wearing. I also wouldn't recommend the brow powder as I kept looking in my mirror and ABSOLUTELY hating my brows all day. The foundation was nice, but did not last all day as it began to crumble and slide off my nose at around the 6 hour mark. I was very happy that the blush and highlighter lasted and would highly recommend these products if you were looking at an alternative to your usual products.
