When I first saw the images of Haus Laboratories ( the make-up line of Singing Superstar Lady Gaga) new palette grace my Instagram feed, I knew it was love at first sight. Even Nikkitutorials review, which warned the shimmers could be more pigmented, and the fall out was a little crazy, couldn't put me off.

The 'Stupid Love' palette, named after a song on Gaga's new album Chromatica, contains 18 highly pigmented, bright shades, all named after songs off of her latest album. The palette is an ode to playfulness and colour and leaves very little for anyone looking for more muted looks.

What really drew me to this palette was the sea of blues, in particular turquoise shade 'Peace.' Perfect for adding a highlight to the eye, each shimmer shade ( There are 8!) perfectly compliments a base shade within the palette, making it easy to imagine looks, no matter how creative you are.

While Nikki was right, some shimmers could be more pigmented ( Rain on me in particular,) shades like Free Women and Sour Candy pull off some serious glow, making up for the short fallings. It's almost unheard of, in a palette full of shimmers, that the non-shimmer shades are really what sets this palette apart from others. '911' is the brightest white I've ever encountered, making it perfect for creating looks for the 'Gram. 'Enigma' and 'Sine' and 'Peace' are easy to blend to create an ocean on the eyes, despite blue being a notoriously hard colour to work with. 'Enemy' and 'Stupid Love' create the perfect transition for the lid, bringing warmth to the palette, ensuring this palette can create Autuminal looks, not just Summer.

Theres a number of colourful eyeshadow palettes out there, (I could name 10 without even looking through my collection,) but what sets this palette apart is its ability to tell a story, and the ease of using that story to create a multitude of looks. The layout makes it easy to see what colours would work best with each other, often with the colour next door being the most complimentary to the one in front of you.

This palette is for the bold, and for the brave and I wouldn't suggest it for someone who's just learning to play ( the shimmers would drive you crazy.) But if your a big fan of gaga, and looking for something more sophisticated than a straight up rainbow palette, this ones for you...
