It's that time of year again. There's just something about the change in weather that makes our skin go to shit ( well, mine anyway.) As a sufferer of having dry skin, it's even more important for me to keep up with my skincare routine at this time of year. This years been particularly difficult due to those dreaded masks and therefore I'm hoping that by sharing some of my absolute fave products to look after your skin, we will get through this season spot free!

Bath and Body

Nivea Deep Cleansing Shower- Superdrug

This stuff is incredible for your skin, a simple fix for dry skin that is so simple to implement into your daily routine. It does exactly what it says on the bottle- it cleanses your skin without too much hassle. Nivea is a brand that does it right- creating affordable and trustworthy products. My favourite thing about this product is that it does not have a super strong scent.

Method body wash- Sainsburys

If your skin is in dire need of something to make it feel soft, this is the product for you. It lathers super well, meaning a lot goes along way and while having a lovely energising scent, it is not overpowering. Made with natural ingredients, this product is perfect if you suffer with sensitive skin like me. Deep cleansing, this product makes your skin look bright and energised- exactly what you want on these dark days!

Dove creamy body lotion- Sainsburys

Dove body lotions are the best I've ever tried ( and I've tried a lot!) Super nourishing, I chose to apply in the evenings and I feel like the soft, silky feeling lasts all day until I reapply. As I get older, I've realised as someone who suffers with dry skin, that I need to look after my whole body, not just the skin on my face. This does the trick without having to put in much effort, and doesn't break the bank.

Face Products

Nivea Micellair- Sainsburys

You may think you can't go wrong with Micellar water, it's all just the same right? Wrong. If you suffer with super sensitive skin, you will know the burn that can come with using some brands. This Nivea water is perfect for people who suffer with sensitive skin. It's also perfect at getting mascara out of eyelashes with ease, something that I constantly struggle with.

The Body Shop Seaweed products- The Body Shop

I LOVE these products, I literally could not live without them. The deep cleansing gel wash is perfect as a daily face wash, that doesn't take too much out of your skin. I use daily, in the morning, leaving my skin brighter than before. I will never replace the Seaweed exfoliator. Deep cleansing, this product not only clears your pores ( something that I especially need around my nose area) but also leaves your skin feeling far smoother, by removing dead skin. The best thing about this exfoliator is that it is not aggressive like some that I have previously used.

The Oil- Balancing toner is great to use after your cleanser at night, to ensure skin is completely free of all products, to reduce build up and spots. The refreshing scent of this toner makes it more refreshing than other toners I have used and does not dry skin out, something which I look for in a toner at this time of year. I also find its great for removing fake tan, something that I use more at this time of year.

Makeup Revolution x Jake Jamie Watermelon face mask- Superdrug

This is the perfect face mask for winter as it is not only super hydrating, but it is super warming as you apply to your face ( perfect for those cold winter nights.) An affordable skincare product that lasts for ages, I use this product twice a week, in which to add a boost to my complexion. It makes my face feel more plump and radiant. If you try one product in this guide- it should be this one.

The Ordinary Hyaluronic Acid- Beauty Bay

There are so many benefits to adding Hyaluronic acid into your skincare routine, especially at this time of year. It really does make your skin look more bright and plump, adding volume to the face. Hyaluronic acid is great in repairing tissue and honestly I've noticed my my skin looking more flawless and 'airbrushed' since adding this product to my routine. The biggest benefit to this product is that it really does hydrate the layers of your skin, not only the top layer, keeping your complexion glowing throughout the winter months.

Elemis Cleanser- Beauty Bay

I could not live without this product. While more expensive then other skincare, Elemis just get it right. I love so many Elemis products, but the reason that this one ended up in my winter skincare roundup, is because of how important it is to remove all your makeup to keep your skin hydrated at this time of year. This product is so beautiful and rich and nothing removes makeup like it. Super refreshing and gently scented, using this product at night is just so calming right before you go to bed. It's like being at the spa.

No 7. Night Cream- Boots

Super, Super thick and creamy, this product is a dream for the skin right before bed. It's like putting a soft pillow onto the skin, allowing the cream to hydrate the skin throughout the night, allowing you to wake up to skin that is already refreshed.

Hair Products

Tangle Teaser Wet Brush- Look Fantastic

I know it seems weird to rave about a hairbrush, but I promise you that this one will change your life. My hair has gone through some shit over the years ( thanks to my constant need to dye it) and now that I can't run to my hairdresser to fix it, it's even more important that I take extra care. The wet brush is perfect for brushing your hair without ripping too much, which is perfect for keeping damaged hair silky smooth. Although advised to use on wet hair, I find this brush great on dry hair in taming the frizzy ends caused by damage, without having to straighten them.

Batiste Dry Shampoo in Cherry- Sainsburys

Let's be honest, even without a lockdown, we all get lazier over the Christmas period. I know some people hate this product, but I think its great to give hair a little refresh without much effort- perfect to put in before rushing downstairs to open those presents on Christmas Day. The cherry scent is my favourite, as it removes that chemical smell, but still feels refreshing ( unlike the tropical scent which I find too overpowering.)
