Becoming Bridgerton: giving your favourite a characters modern reinvention

Let's face it. While in isolation we've all been guilty of binge watching Bridgerton, and no, not just for the Duke. What's so lovely about this not-so- traditional period series is that each character is so vastly different to other characters, with such personality resonating in the clothing that they wear throughout the show.
In this article, I have reimagined what some of my favourite characters would wear if the program was set today, highlighting the subtle additions you could make to your wardrobe to make you bridgerton-worthy. Have you rushed to buy the most beautiful corset you can find? Or the most charming pair of lace gloves that serve no purpose in your daily life? I'd love to see and hear about how the series has changed your current fashion trends too!
Daphne Bridgerton
The story of the first series focuses largely around Daphne in her mission to find a suitor. While in the series we see Daphne in a wide array of stunning dresses, there's just something about her that makes me see her rocking a pair of denim flares, and a more traditional corset style top, all tied together with a diamonte inspired hair band, of course.
Top: Yes Style, £9.91 ( Available here)
Flared Jeans: I Saw It First, £25 ( Available here)
Headband: Accessorize, £5.40 ( Available here)
Shoes: Public Desire on Asos, £9.45 ( Available here)
Eloise Bridgerton
The coolest sibling ever, Eloise is far more interested in doing things for herself, rather than finding a suitor. She's a quirky, matter-of-fact gal and an avid writer. I could definitely see her wondering around the streets of Brighton, with all the cool creatives. In an equally cool outfit.
Shirt Dress: Missguided, £28 ( Available here)
Boots: New Look, £19.99 ( Available here)
Fedora Hat: I Saw It First, £15 ( Available here)
Madame Delacroix
Madame Delacroix makes all the girls dream dresses as the seamstress of Modiste. A mysterious character, and the person Eloise investigates to be Lady Whistledown, I can only imagine her wearing the finest outfits, as she spends all day surrounded by the finest fabrics. The minute we got to know Delacroix, I pictured her in a velvet jumpsuit, providing both glam and edge.
Jumpsuit: Pretty Little Thing, £22 ( Available here)
Leather Jacket: I Saw It First, £20 ( Available here)
Stiletto Sock Boots: Boohoo, £23 ( Available here)
Penelope Featherington
The youngest of the Featherington sisters, Penelope stands out from her family, as being a loyal friend who morally wants to do what's right. Deep down Penelope is a romantic, who shows interest in Bridgerton brother Colin, which brings up some emotional turmoil for the young Featherington. I'm sure Penelope would opt for a pair of kitten heels over all other styles, so that she can play with Eloise ( I mean, walk the promenade looking for suitors!) I can't see Penelope completely abandoning her family colour of yellow, although I can see her jazzing her outfit up, into something playful but more mature...she is a young lady after all.

Mustard Yellow Trousers: Pretty Little Thing, £25 (Available here)
